GDPR now needs no introductions! The deadline date has now passed and new legislation is due in force in the Isle of Man in the coming weeks. Your Trainer is Peter Cannell, Advocate and Chartered Secretary with Quinn Legal. Peter is now a much sought after and renowned speaker. He is recognised as the ‘go to’ man on the Island for all things GDPR. He regularly works with Expol, presenting and advising on GDPR, AML, Cybercrime, Corporate Governance, Freedom of Information Act, Equality Act and Disability Discrimination Act.

This workshop is aimed at Human Resources Professionals and those staff involved in the Human Resources function.

What does the course involve?

This workshop is a specific introduction to GDPR and its effects on HR management. It is built around our well received session on the new General Data Protection Regulations. Specifically with HR management in mind, it covers:

  • What does GDPR look like and how does it impact HR;
  • Practical considerations for day-to-day HR management in a GDPR world; and
  • What is the worse that could happen? – practical planning and applying the results to achieve best business practice.

The workshop will conclude with round-table discussions of practical solutions to possible scenerios.

This workshop will cover the initial steps required to prepare your HR function for the impact of the GDPR, identifying what are the areas that may cause you problems and what you can do in anticipation of them.

    a. Erasure;
    b. Data Portability;
    c. Automated Decisions/Profiling;
  4. Application of GDPR in HR – Other key areas:
    a. Data Minimisation;
    b. Storage Limitation;
    c. Use of Data Processors;
  5. Worked Examples:
    a. Group Discussion
    b. Roundtable Discussion
  6. Summary and Plenary

At the conclusion of the training a Certificate of Attendance will be awarded.
