The GDPR deadline is fast approaching and is literally now weeks away.

GDPR brings new and added pressures now to the role of the Investigator and detailed knowledge and preparation is key. This workshop will assist your processes.

Your Trainer is Peter Cannell, Advocate and Chartered Secretary with Quinn Legal. Peter is now a much sought after and renowned speaker. He is recognised as the ‘go to’ man on the Island for all things GDPR. He regularly works with Expol, presenting and advising on GDPR, AML, Cybercrime, Corporate Governance, Freedom of Information Act, Equality Act and Disability Discrimination Act.

This workshop is aimed at staff involved in the field of investigation and those who employ their services.

What does the course involve?

This workshop will review the new General Data Protection Regulation and highlight what are the key areas that an Investigator needs to take into account when undertaking work which involves personal data.

This is an interactive session, commencing with a presentation and concluding with relevant group discussions and practical exercises which will ensure all Delegates are fully aware of the issues raised by GDPR on their roles and responsibilities.

  2.    What is data
  3.    Principles and Rights

 

2)    Lawful Processing:

  1.    Reasons to process
  2.    Do you need consent
  3.    Special provisions realting to special category data explicit consent
  4.    the life cycle of consent

 

3)    Data processing: 

  1.    Relationship between Controller and Processor – Client & Investigator
  2.    Accountability – records of activity
  3.    Security
  4.    What if it goes wrong?

 

4)    Summary and Plenary
